palantir: "Politics. I came to Kosablanca for the Democrats."
Louis: "The Democrats? What Democrats? We are in the dessert, we only have pie."
palantir (pauses): "I was misinformed."
It's been a year now that Bam and I have been knockin' about the new diggs. It's pretty much been the same ol' same ol'. Main Street got a bit bigger. They knocked the back walls and opened up doors on second street. We don't hang out there much anyway. It's way too, I don't know, political.
Bam and I like the back alleys. He chases the skunks and squirrels and the occasional pootie till they run up a tree. He always comes back with eyes as bright as the noon day sun, his tounge hanging out and panting like the dickens. "You know I'd never hurt 'em", he told me once, "It's just so fun to see 'em skitter".
There's a coffee house way off the main drag that me and bam and my bud jim in IA run. It doesn't get much foot traffic, but occassionally, when we book in a star like FOoW it gets pretty crowded. I like it there 'cause some really smart folk come by sometimes and tell some really fabulous yarns. Stories about outer and inner space; animals, atoms, and ancients lands; science and scientists. You ought to stop by some time. Like I said were way off the beaten path but it's worth the trek.
Anyway, that's our story. We came for the Democrats and ended up a shop proprietor. Talk about bourgeois.
What brought you to Kosablanca?
