In case you're wondering how the "journalists" over at Tucker Carlson's Daily Caller do their job:

subject: [DKos Contact Form] Urgent Media Inquiry: Media Matters traffic numbers
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing a piece about Media Matters' failing web traffic numbers (as provided by Compete.com), and the little-to-no web interest shown by Americans (as shown by Google Insights), and I am using Daily Kos as a comparison point.
Both search traffic/interest and web traffic are significantly higher for Daily Kos than Media Matters. In fact, Daily Kos and the Heritage Foundation are tracking pretty similarly when it comes to Google searches. I was wondering why that is? Does Media Matters have too narrow of a focus? Is it out of touch with Americans?
I am on a 6:30pm EST deadline.
Thanks!
Sincerely,

The Daily Caller
Given that Media Matters and Daily Kos share the same politics, if Media Matters was so out of the mainstream, then Daily Kos would be suffering traffic, rather than
growing like nuts.
If this guy really wanted to gauge Media Matters' performance, he would compare it to the right wing's media watchdog, the Media Research Council -- an apples to apples comparison. And lo-and-behold, we find that its traffic is not as good as Media Matters'!
So clearly, that means that the conservative watchdog is just out of touch with America!
In our next installment, we compare Huffington Post traffic with that of the Daily Caller to conclude that yup, conservatives have lost the battle.
Update: Some context -- the Daily Caller (and other right-wing outlets) are on a jihad against Media Matters at the moment. This is the kind of "journalism" they practice to try and further that jihad.
