Now as an non-theist and a Buddhist worshiping one form of imaginary being or another really doesn't cut much mustard. However:
Their god
Hates women
Hates gays
Hates socialists.
Since I have the trifecta I start to reason.
What is the opposite to their form of "Christianity"? Hmmm, I know....
Apparently it is Stan [sic], I'm meant to be worshiping.
Fine, good even, if what I am meant to be is in opposite to every bigotry and social knee jerk reaction, and this is personified in some abstract being called Stan, then I suppose you could call me a follower of Stan.
OK, I'll play the game, whatever, just so long as I am as far away from your views at it is humanly possible to be I stick with Stan, Fred, or Bertha, really it doesn't matter one jot to me whom they believe I worship.....just so long as we are not in the same temple.
Personally I prefer to marvel at all of creation, rather than define it by some patriarchal being whose perceived requirements are so petty when compared to the whole, cool, all hail Stan.
When wanting to help not only myself is associated with Stan worship, we don't need to argue, Stan's my man.....or not as the case may be.
When wanting to be with the one I love upsets their god, well the choice is easy, I'm with Stan.
When all I represent is their god's chattel, then who am I to disagree, I'll take a bet on Stan, rather than moo.
It is simple when their god is against who you are, it is easy to take the opposing view, they can call it what they like, but, is it the truth.
BTW for those of you who might be racially profiled as Muslim Kenyans, then perhaps, Stan's your man too?
