When you disagree with the Democratic Party is one thing, but, when you disagree with the right it is a whole different kettle of fish.
You are denigrated for your gender.
You are denigrated for your sexuality.
You are denigrated for your race.
You are by definition alien.
It is who you are that disgusts them, let alone by what you say. Our mere existence disgusts them totally, there is no repentance possible.
Women are beneath contempt, even their bodily functions must be controlled and if necessary this must be the subject of onerous legislation, Women cannot be responsible for their bodily functions, in fact they are beneath contempt.
Sexuality is by choice because the natural state is mere reproduction, anything that precludes this basic function is by definition perverse.
The color of your skin defines your origin, if its color is not accepted then how can one be natural born and with that comes the doubt if you have access to the one true faith.
When the majority screams that they are persecuted that is the time to worry, when minorities are perceived to be oppressive that is the time to stand firm. These are dangerous times when a majority plays at being oppressed because authoritarianism is the next step.
The left has forgot its populist roots and the right preys upon its fear, the elitist left has forgotten from whence it privileges have come, the right uses this against them in the simplistic terms of "elitism".
If we not only want to win the next round of elections but the future of a nation, it is long past time we assert our principles. Gone are the times when bipartisan compromise to preserve the present means anything, as the right understands. one must stand on principle. We have a choice, and it is one world view against another.
When supporting the weak against the strong becomes an anathema, then something fundamental is at stake, like it our not, it is a war of ideals. It is a shame that only the right wing seems to realize what is a stake.
I wish our supposedly supportive party would join fully in this war of ideals
“Revolution is a serious thing, the most serious thing about a revolutionary's life. When one commits oneself to the struggle, it must be for a lifetime.”
Angela Davis
It is my belief that we are at that crux.
