Watch DWS hammer away at the GOP, bashing Mitt Romney and the whole field:
“I think what Mitt Romney said in his speech last night ... was telling,” Wasserman Schultz said during an interview Wednesday afternoon on MSNBC. “That his win wasn’t very big, but it was enough. When you’re running and when you’re on the ballot in what is essentially your home state, the state you grew up in, the state where your father was governor, that is not exactly — a 3-point win — is not exactly what you should expect in terms of results. He should have blown the doors off this primary last night.”
In other words, it was pathetic. She continues:
"Another important item to point out for the Republicans, yet another state in which turnout has declined...eight percent fewer Republicans turned out in Michigan's primary yesterday, every other state except South Carolina has seen a drop in turnout since 2008...so their enthusiasm is plummeting. That's directly because of Mitt Romney."
“He has really not inspired the enthusiasm — their entire field hasn’t,” Wasserman Schultz said. “Even worse for him is, he has clearly alienated independent voters if he ends up being the nominee in the general election, so it’s a real problem for him.”
In other word's he comes out of his home gym with two black eyes and a broken nose, but at least he went the distance and got a split decision. Hardly a championship caliber performance.
And Jay Carney:
White House press secretary Jay Carney said that President Barack Obama's address to the United Auto Workers was not meant as a political foil to the Michigan primary — noting that the election was never expected to be competitive and taking a potshot at Mitt Romney's narrow win at the same time.
"The UAW set its conference a long time ago," Carney said. "It was probably scheduled at a time before any of you would have predicted that the Michigan primary would be a significant event."
"That was supposed to be a non-event primary because one of the contestants was born there and his father was governor," Carney said.
