Excuse the brevity of this diary, but in spite of lacking the time to elaborate extensively on the subject, it seems that the lack of discussion in the media over the fact that Bain Capital owns Clear Channel, which broadcasts Rush Limbaugh's show, is a major oversight and sorely lacking in the current reporting over Limbaugh and his comments about Ms. Fluke. In fact, even without taking into consideration Limbaugh's boorish comments, the fact that Mitt Romney, the Republican presidential frontrunner, should, by means of corporate acquisition and personal wealth, have so much potential influence over talk radio media should be a factor that voters and media should be aware of.
However, in light of the focus on Rush Limbaugh's broadcast hate speech and the importance it plays in the electoral political debate, it seems reasonable that the media should request some kind of commentary from Bain Capital, which controls the air waves via which Limbaugh's vitriol was broadcast.
After all, as a corporation, Bain Capital should show the responsibility expected from other "people" and even step up in any apology to Ms Fluke. Also, the media needs to press candidate Romney to speak more on the subject of his own company's role in the broadcast of Limbaugh's hateful speech.
Last but not least of all, just how much influence does Mitt Romney have over media coverage of his candidacy given Bain Capital's strategic acquisition of media giant Clear Channel?
