From CNN:
During a new interview with Piers Morgan the "Growing Pains" heartthrob who transitioned from a "teen-idol-atheist in Hollywood and became a devoted follower of Jesus Christ in the middle of [his] career" explained that he believes homosexuality is "unnatural... I think that it's detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization."
In addition, he decided to weigh in on the question of how he would treat his own child if he or she turned out to be gay:
Cameron offered, "I wouldn't say 'That's great, son, as long as you're happy.' There are all sorts of issues we need to wrestle through in our life... Just because you feel one way doesn't mean we should act on everything we feel."
First of all, Cameron is the textbook example of someone who has been told how great they are most of his life and assumes that anything that emanates from his pea brain is gold. Tom Cruise suffers from this same affliction. I think it's called Arrogantitis.
What's more disturbing is that others decided to weigh in with their equally ignorant comments:
Kirk Cameron is a MAN who said what he believes. Why is this so wrong? Why does the media want us to believe that if we don't think homosexuality is normal, there is something wrong with us? I don't think there is anything wrong with Kirk Cameron. I agree with Kirk Cameron. I am homophobic. I can't help it, I was born this way.
Kirk, you are right on this point. I totally agree with how you feel about this subject. It is so sad when you read all the comments on here that is against living morally. No matter how many states legalize this issue, I would say to anyone if they say it's right, that I can not recognize what God will not recognize. Marriage is to be only between man and woman. The Bible is very clear. We are not to add or take away from the scriptures. God Bless.
God is looking down on all of us hoping we live a sinless life. Three cheers for Kirk Cameron for standing up for what he believes in and standing up for God! The gays and lesbians are living the way the want to, so be it!
He has an opinion that a great majority of people have. there is no need to denigrate him.
I don't know what's more disturbing to me: The fact that Cameron has these beliefs and a large stage to air them or that millions of other ignorants out there who see this and become emboldened.
I grew up in New York (and am still here). I have many friends who are gay. It has NEVER been an issue with me or anyone else I know. It never should be. I also consider myself a Christian, but my beliefs are a million miles removed from this fool.
Keep your hateful opinions to yourself, Kirk. The ignorance and ugliness of what you say is embarrassing (not that you will ever know it).
