Elizabeth Warren! It's one of the most popular political names in the entire country. In the eyes of her supporters, a dream candidate. Should she prevail in the coming election in MA, Dr Warren will make history as the first woman to occupy the office of US Senator for the State of Massachusetts.
Early as it may seem, Warren supporters across America muse that if she wins in MA and decides to enter the presidential race in 2016, she could well become the first woman to be elected as President of the United States.
Then America could rightly claim its own Elizabeth the First!
In 'The Bay State' fans refer to her as 'Wonder Woman'; in proud acknowledgement of the 62 year old Harvard Law Professor. No surprises there to those who know her, nor for people who have seen her in action close up or on national television.
Elizabeth Warren is best known and regaled for her work as an untiring advocate for women and as the driving force and financial and contract law whiz, behind the creation of her brainchild, The United States Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).
The CFPB now under Director Richard Cordray, provides the US Government with what could well be its most effective financial regulatory tool. It's job it is to identify, prosecute and penalize parties found to have been engaged in acts of financial corruption. Past and present.
Elliott Ness type investigators are already out on the beat, thanks to Warren, President Obama and the Democrats. The crooks of the financial world are finally on notice. And the word is, the days of dodgy contract deals are over.
Warren's outstanding public works, coupled with her many other notable achievements, easily explains why this brilliant and refreshingly natural lady, is so widely respected and admired by millions of Americans.
Following the early loss of President Obama's mother, other strong and intelligent women, beginning with his maternal grandmother, have been an invaluable source of encouragement and inspiration in the President's life.
Mr Obama's five minute personal telephone call to support Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke in her hour of need, is further evidence of the respect and regard America's leader has for all women.
The unbelievable Rush Limbaugh attacks on Ms Fluke's character and her treatment by representatives of the GOP in her testimony to Congress were a national disgrace. The events of recent days provide a cogent reminder that the country needs to hear much more concerning the rights of women, and it needs more strong, intelligent women in politics.
Who better then, than Dr Elizabeth Warren as an advocate for women's rights, to lead the charge? And what better electoral platform could the DNC propose than that of Keynote Speaker at the 2012 DNC National Convention?
-
For Warren to be chosen to deliver the Keynote address would be the Republicans worst nightmare. And what a message she could deliver.
Picture her now! With that typical enthusiasm, her broad smile and arms outstretched. A TV audience of millions. And perhaps the excited words. "We are the party of equals. We respect your rights and we will protect women's rights. Come and join us!"
That is a great truth about the Democrats! And they need to remind the world.
Enough already! Please sign the petition and add your voice to make this happen.
America will be the Winner!
