We already knew the religious right's claims to be the defenders of decency were a fountain of lying agitprop. Well, today some religious right luminaries proved it in spades by actually DEFENDING Rush Limbaugh's horrible attacks on Sandra Fluke. I thought this was snark when PFAW's alert about this came across my Facebook and Twitter feeds. But I was wrong.
The Media Research Center is outraged at the outrage over Limbaugh's comments. It called the morning shows' scathing coverage of Limbaugh a continuation of "a left-wing attack" on El Rushbo. Gee, I didn't know speaking out against misogyny was "a left-wing attack."
The American Family Association's Bryan Fischer thinks Limbaugh shouldn't have been made to apologize for "using the dictionary accurately" when describing Fluke as a "slut," while Liberty Counsel's Matt Barber thinks Rush was merely "calling a spade a spade."
Looks like decency standards are only for those who aren't wingnuts.
