Inspired by so many of you, I wrote my second diary on Friday, "Get Rush off WLS AM 890." Then, I tuned in and heard Rush happily promoting Lifelock, the identify theft protection service, today about a half hour after posting.
I immediately pulled the car over and called Lifelock's toll-free number.
I told the female customer service rep, whose name I will not reveal, how upset I was by his awful comments.
"He's calling women like me and you sluts," I said. "How do you feel being called a slut?"
The question hung in the air.
I wish I had also added that it's likely the men who talk to customers at Lifelock are paid more than she is.
She tried to go the route of "we don't support any political point of view."
I pressed back and say, "Your company's money does support this awful, hateful speech. Where do you think your dollars go?"
I pressed more. "What is Lifelock's position on Rush Limbaugh."
She said firmly and clearly, "We're not pulling our ads."
I said that I would mention it to a few friends.
