If you'll remember, Sean Harris issued a retraction of his sermon last Sunday in which he told the parents in his congregation that the best way to deal with gay tendencies in their kids was to "give them a good punch." You'd have thought that once he issued that statement, one of his first priorities would be to delete all traces of that sermon, right? Well, folks, as of right now (Sunday afternoon, Eastern time), the video of that sermon is still up on both the church's Website and its YouTube channel.
About the only plausible excuse Harris might have is that he simply didn't have time. But that excuse simply doesn't wash because the "give them a good punch" bit was edited out of the sermon transcript.
I had been willing to give Harris the benefit of the doubt--that maybe, just maybe once he got out of his cocoon, he realized he'd stepped in it and that he'd really realized he'd screwed up big time. But if he hasn't deleted that sermon, one has to wonder how sincere that apology was.
