Many of you who read my pieces know that I very much love with whom I call "The Girl".
She is a real person, and my favorite person in the world.
She is beautiful, to me the most beautiful girl on that planet, smart, funny, and absolutely dedicated to her three year old daughter.
I call the daughter "The Little Girl." She loves me and NEVER allows me to depart without a hug and a kiss on the cheek from her, and saying, "I love you, Dave!"
The Girl got into distress Saturday. She had full blown anaphylaxis and damn near died. We are still trying to figure out what caused it.
I brought her diphenhydramine, aka Benedryl and insisted that she take it.
Both the paramedics and the ER physician told her that if she had not gotten it when I made her take it that she would not be living now.
As a Boy Scout I had a fantasy that I might save a life. I saved the life of my most precious person Saturday.
My precious Girl still is still living! I love her, and I saved her life!
I feel wonderful!
UPDATE 20120529 at 6:23 PM Eastern: I just spoke with her and she did get an epinephrine self injector. I feel a lot better.
Warmest regards,
Doc
