I love quilts, although I don't consider myself a quilter. But I'm close ;-)
Explanation over the squiggly doohickey....
(Note: I signed up for this week's diary while managing to forget that I'd be out today going to Fiber Frolic, where I will get this month's yarn and sheep fix; I am a knitter! Likely will be home at the time this diary posts, but ~~ if not ~~ I'll be back soon to reply to comments.)
Yes, I really love quilts. I drool over the amazing examples in Lancaster County (PA) fabric shops frequently. I adore the antique quilt that hangs here in the cottage:
But I don't have the patience to do full-sized quilts. (I don't have the patience to knit adult sweaters, either, although I usually have a lace shawl on the needles. A foolish consistency and all that.....).
I do, however, make smaller pieces and other, non-quilt items from quilting cottons..... A few examples:
A table runner for a friend (pieced, minor machine quilting):
Bags (I always seem to need bags for library books and knitting projects):
Bibs, part of a larger Little Golden Books themed present for some friends on the birth of a new baby:
A wallhanging, my first paper-piecing project:
Such fun things to do with quilting cottons ;-)
