I am a beginner as far as photography goes. I use a wonderfully compact Fujifilm FinePix -- a PhD (push here, dummy) camera that lives in my handbag so it goes where I go. I've gotten some very nice shots in the woods, along my beloved Lake Michigan and in my captivating city of Chicago. Everyone's eye is led to and appreciates the beauty we around us. Sometimes, though, it's a great deal of fun to see what interesting and beautiful images we can capture in our oftentimes mundane world.
This morning as I getting my first cup of coffee I noticed some leaves that had fallen from the oak tree next door and landed on my back porch. When I went for my second cup I decided to take my camera with me when I went to the alley to deposit some trash. Come see where else a walk to the alley took me.

I love using the filters available in Photoshop Elements. Many of them at the same time.

I like asymmetry.

Another rusty hinge.
I would love it if you would post some of your own ordinary or not-so-ordinary photos. I believe that beauty, or at least interesting views, are all around us. All we have to do is see.
Any input would be happily received. Thanks.
