Tipped, recced and republished to Badger State Progressive.
I've typed those words twenty-five times today. Before I finish this diary, I'll probably type it again. I don't mind it so much though. Every time I type it another Badger gets his claws.
I republished some of them before work this morning. I did most of them tonight after I got in from canvassing. When I dropped off my clipboard at the home of our city's Recall/canvass captain, Jim invited me in for a glass of wine. He is a hero of mine.
He is far too busy to play on the internet. His computer is used for email and that's about it. I took his laptop and showed him of noise of rain's Overpass Light Brigade diaries. He and his wife watched the video. They were astounded. "We have to do this!" he exclaimed.
He and his wife are retired teachers. He taught in public schools, vocational schools and a state prison. Thirty years ago he was taken hostage in a prison riot. He survived and went back to work on Monday.
He was a regular at the Madison protests when Walker "dropped the bomb" on us.
Glenn Grothman says Jim is a slob.
ruleoflaw says Jim has more "public servant" in his toenail clippings that you will find in the bodies of a thousand Glenn Grothmann clones.
Tomorrow, my brothers and sisters of the Cheddar Revolution will see all the work of sixteen months come to fruition. All the Cheeseheads and supporters at Badger State Progressive are in my heart as I type these words. Thank you, Puddytat and all you wonderful 'sconnies.
I dedicate this diary and every door I knocked on to Jim.
I dedicate every chant I chanted to my Dad, who left us on the day before Christmas.
I dedicate every song I sang to Giles Goat Boy, AnnieJo, plankbob and the Solidarity Singers.
I dedicate every flag I waved to my brothers and sisters of AFSCME Local 178.
and I dedicate every LED sign I held high to Noise of Rain and badscience.
We are on the cusp of a revolution. We are fighting for a society ruled not by money but by just and equitable laws. We struggle for human rights, workers rights and the rights of generations yet unborn to participate in their own governance. The whole world from Madison to Zucotti Park to Cairo is watching.
Lets try not to suck.
Solidarity!
