It's like the Big Bang. The one that created a thousand little smile shaped cracks in the universe. Only unlike the smile-crack on Dr. Who, this crack goes right through Mitt Romney's credibility as a business man and just might suck his chances to become President right out existence from all time and space.
Which is why of course, the great Limbaugh has to come galloping to Mitt's rescue by pointing out how evil and dastardly those evil, commie, socialist, evil, democrat(ic) people are with their lies and the "facts" and evilness.
Mitt Romney is stuck with a problem where he was apparently, Dr. Manhattan-like, in two places at the same time. He was on the one hand in Utah working on the Olympics starting in 1999 while taking a leave of absence from the company where on paper he was still CEO and Sole Owner of, Bain Capital, as he reported in his SEC filings while at the same time he collected a Salary of $100k per year, not counting stock options and dividends, but was "totally uninvolved" with Bain or any of it's companies, except that he told the Massachusetts Law Hearing that he still qualified for MA residency because he had been occasionally traveling back from Utah for "Board Meetings" and the like.
Board meetings with who? Over what? Surely, not with Bain or any of it's client companies like Staples or Lifelike Inc as he told the Olympics committee? Say it ain't so Mitt! Say it ain't so!
Did he lie to the SEC, or the Law Hearing or to the Olympics? All three? None of the Above? It's like solving a Rubik's cube wrapped inside a Chinese doll, inside your back pocket. Romney's supposed to have a narrative of business success catapulting him toward the Presidency, not as Alex Wagner stated on MSNBC - a whodunit!
Limbaugh smells something fishy in Gotham, ah Utah, um Massachusetts - ah fuck it.
“Do you know the name of the villain in this movie?” he asked. “Bane. The villain in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is named Bane, B-A-N-E. What is the name of the venture capital firm that Romney ran, and around which there’s this make-believe controversy? Bain.”
Yes, Rush Limbaugh, if you close your eyes, the two words are exactly the same!
“The movie has been in the works for a long time, the release date has been known, summer 2012 for a long time. Do you think that it is accidental that the name of the really vicious, fire-breathing, four-eyed whatever-it-is villain in this movie is named Bane?” he insisted.
“Yes, you see, because the villains in Batman were pre-named DECADES IN ADVANCE of the 2012 election, in which one of the candidates would have a contested affiliation with a company named Bain!” mocked Maddow. “That’s why they named that villain Bane!”
Here's the thing, this isn't the first Batman movie to feature the character Bane. He was also in the 1997 film Batman and Robin with George Clooney & Arnold Swarzenegger as Mr. Freeze.

As played by Jeep Swenson.
As Limbaugh's ridiculous Bane/Bain nonsense shows, the GOP and the Romney campaign are clearly running scared over the ever expanding Bain Bomb. They haven't got an answer that makes sense, so they'll say just about anything just to CHANGE. THE. SUBJECT.

Questions surrounding Mitt Romney’s relationship with Bain Capital and his personal finances have spurred a feeding frenzy in the press, drowning out almost all other campaign news over the last week. Not surprisingly, Romney and his surrogates have seized on a wide range of issues to try and steer the topic to something, anything other than Bain — with mixed results.
Changing the subject is a hallmark of a flailing campaign. Republicans routinely accuse Obama of doing the exact same thing when he focuses on Bain instead of the weak economic reports. But the attacks floated by the Romney team this week — some old, some new — are impressive for their sheer magnitude and speed.
TPM even provides a list of Romney "Bain, what Bain? Hey, look over there -
Squirrel!" Tactics.
• Negative campaigning: Romney’s campaign, which was already running new ads accusing Obama of betraying his “hope and change” mantra with negative attacks, has leveled this charge constantly.
• Apology, Please: Republicans seized on a comment from Obama aide Stephanie Cutter suggesting Romney may have committed a felony if he offered misleading information in his SEC filings. Romney demanded a personal apology from the president during a media blitz on five networks Friday. He didn’t get one.
• VP Speculation: As things got out of hand Thursday, Drudge Report, which has been closely tied to the Romney campaign throughout the election, reported Romney was considering Condoleezza Rice as running mate.
• Fisker Automotives: Romney has been repeating an old story all week about Fisker Automotives. “I am ashamed to say that we’re seeing our president hand out money to the businesses of campaign contributors, when he gave money, $500 million in loans, to a company called Fisker that makes high-end electric cars, and they make the cars now in Finland,” ... No funds went to assembling cars in Finland, nor did Fisker move any jobs from America to Finland as a result.
• Solyndra: As part of the same “crony capitalism” push, Romney has revived his attacks on defunct solar company Solyndra. The campaign has mentioned the company in more than a half-dozen press releases since July 12.
• Bundlers: Romney won’t release the names of his bundlers, or top fundraisers, and he doesn’t have an ethics plan that would stamp out the behavior he’s accusing Obama of to implement if he wins. But that didn’t stop Romney’s campaign from holding a series of events on Monday in which supporters attacked Obama for rewarding his own bundlers with administration appointments.
• Fast and Furious: What’s a good time to go after Obama for invoking executive privilege over documents related to the “Fast and Furious” program the House is investigating? How about one month later, while Romney is under fire from all sides over his taxes?
• Obama Built Your Business! : The big story Americans should be focusing on, according to Romney, was that Obama said, “If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that.”
• Obama Is A Pot-Smoking Other: Romney surrogate John Sununu went on a Tuesday morning rampage that succeeded in drawing some attention away from the campaign’s Bain and tax problems. Sununu caught people’s attention by bringing up Obama’s teenage drug use, and for saying Obama didn’t understand America well because he lived in Indonesia as a child.
In Limbaugh's world, Mitt Romney is Bruce Wayne Billionaire (we'll 1/4th Billion) Playboy, Philanthropist, Hero. And his former company is a chemically super-human neoanderthal on a deadly rampage to destroy anything and everything in it's path.
Sadly, that isn't all that far from the truth. In Mitt's mind, he probably is a Super Hero, just without the tights. Or the skills. Or the ethics.
The DC Character of Bane was first introduced in 1993 and was best known for breaking Batman's Back and put him - temporarily - into retirement.
This was part of a long form story called "Knightfall" where Batman was replaced by a variety of characters including Dick Grayson (Robin/Nightwing) and Jean-Paul Valley (Azrael).
The sad truth in what Limbaugh is saying is that just like Bane "Broke the Bat", Bain Capital just might "Break the Mitt" over it's knee.
I for one, am rooting for the "Villain" in this case. Let's hear it for the Bain. of Mitt Romney.
