Okay, enough with the bullshit. I'm a gay Hispanic Gen-X male. My family has been in Texas since before the state existed or even before the fucking Mayflower sailed. But I'm not "American" because of the color of my skin? Or because I love a person of the same gender?
I've volunteered to teach people financial literacy so that they don't get caught in credit hell because big banks suckered them with lots of credit cards. I helped a number of young people Come Out by listening to their stories and being a sympathetic ear. I've registered voters, helped with campaigns for the American Heart Association, protested injustice, walked the streets at night to combat gay bashing.
I worked full time while going to school full time to earn my degree. For three years I had no clue what a day off was.
I have cared for my fellows with compassion and empthy. I have donated money I didn't have so some people could eat a meal.
And yet, I am "Un-American" by the standards that the idiot Right is using for this President? They can go fuck themselves. They don't just insult President Obama in calling him foriegn, they insult generations of Americans who don't fit into a specific image.
Times change and I am a full blooded American male. Those who disparge others because of what they look like or who they love, YOU are Un-American.
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
I seek a more perfect union. When I read the Preamble, I see the WHOLE thing. It is about everyone, not a select few. And when you make it about a chosen few, it is YOU who is Un-American.
