From The Telegraph:
The 37-year-old male was arrested by officers investigating a suspected conspiracy to gather data from stolen mobile phones.
He is the ninth person to be arrested as part of Operation Tuleta...
He was arrested after attending a police station in East London by appointment.
Sources at News International confirmed that the journalist worked for The Sun.

The Statement released by the Metropolitan Police:
“The arrest relates to a suspected conspiracy involving the gathering of data from stolen mobile phones and is not about seeking journalists to reveal confidential sources in relation to information that has been obtained legitimately.”
It is always a bigger blow to the Murdoch empire when a current employee is arrested. The corporation usually has to send out a memo to all employees saying something to the effect of, "please don't freak out, even though your colleague may well be currently implicating you, down at the police station."
Many in the UK are now calling for Rupert to shut down The Sun, just as he did The News of The World. But if he shuts down all his companies in which illegal activity runs rampant, he probably won't be left with much.
In a related story, shares of Orville Reddenbacher are up 62%. :)
UPDATE 1:
We knew Andy Coulson and Rebekah Brooks were among the 8 people charged with crimes last week. But now, thanks to The AP, via The Las Vegas Sun, we know who the 6 others are:
Others being charged are senior tabloid journalists Stuart Kuttner, Greg Miskiw, Neville Thurlbeck, James Weatherup and Ian Edmondson.
Also being charged is private investigator Glenn Mulcaire.
