Dear Sir:
You and your organization have made a public accusation against the president of the United States, claiming that he or his subordinates have intentionally leaked to the public classified details of the raid which killed al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in Pakistan. Furthermore, you claim that these leaked details give aid to enemies of the United States and endanger the lives of American servicemen and civilians.
This is an extraordinary claim and so requires extraordinary proof.
For your organization's accusations to have any credibility, you must list what previously classified information the administration has made public in an unauthorized way. Doing so will not jeopardize you nor compromise any oaths you have sworn regarding disclosure of classified information if, as you claim, this information has already be made public by the president or his subordinates.
What few details your organization has released to the press do not specify any classified material regarding the raid in Pakistan that has been leaked to the press or public by the administration for political purposes.
Unless and until your organization can provide evidence of such leaked information, how it led to the successful execution of the raid on bin Laden's compound and what classification/disclosure laws or protocols were broken in the information being released, your efforts and those of your organization must be assumed to be entirely partisan and political and in no way an effort to assure the security of the nation and its defenders.
Bluntly speaking, sir, if you have something more than innuendo and partisan passion, put up or shut up. As it stands, you are embarrassing only yourselves.
I am sincere when I say I look forward to hearing your specifics, if you have any.
Yours,
Louie Ludwig
