Beware of this bizarre new meme. Within the last 24 hours I've heard Andrea Mitchell, Chuck Todd and others on MSNBC, impressed with a speech by Condleezza and a few Hispanics scattered here and there, say that Republicans are the ones who are developing a true back bench of minorities and if you truly looked at Democrats, you would be hard pressed to see minority faces among politicians.
Josh Marshall has seen this, at least from Chuck Todd. He muses about it in a recent post entitled, "Okay, that's the Stupidest Thing I Ever Heard."

The problem is, however, it's not just Chuck Todd. It's at least two other supposedly objective news people on a supposedly liberal network. This to me means it's not just some bizarre off the cuff remark.
I sure hope someone starts pushing back on it, and fast. I mean, last time I checked with have an African American President, at least one African American governor, and at least one Hispanic Senator. And I didn't even have to research that one.
The last time I checked, a poll found 0% support for Republicans among African Americans.
What's up here? Can anyone enlighten me?
