I did not want to do this. I told you that I didn't want to do it.
I don't have time to manage the definitive site collecting lies from Mitt Romney, Ann Romney, Paul Ryan, and their campaign surrogates. But since no one would take RomneyLyin.com off of my hands, I've had to go ahead and start.
This will either be a really good webpage or a not-very-good one. What will make the difference? You.
I'm asking for you to make it easy for me to plop new Romney lies in there. Send them to me, ideally pre-written and formatted (or post them here), so that I can just copy, paste, and educate in my spare moments.
I'll then -- and you can help me -- promote "RomneyLyin.com." I make no money off of this; my friend and publisher may make something in the high two figures or so each of the next two months. We're not in it for the money. We're in it for the sweet, truth-telling high. (Eventually, I'll move the notice to regulars from the website onto the bottom. I'm basically using the site as a place to store the page.)
One question I have is whether anyone would be willing to go and unpack all of the lies from the amazing Steve Benen collection, and maybe even arrange them by category, so that they will be easier for people to access and read. Saying "go click these 30 links -- which is all anyone seems to be doing right now -- leaves a bit to be desired.
I'm happy to say that I'm also prominently featuring Yosef 52's "Romney the Liar" site, which has a slightly different format and focus but to which I hope to pass along many hits.
OK, who's heard some good lies recently from the Romney campaign? Let me know!
Oh yeah -- if you like the site and aren't otherwise using your sig line, please go to your profile and edit in a link to it!
