More Tagging tips:
A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?
Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.
If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office.
CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.
Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.
Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary:
Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House.
If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state
Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries
that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
You must be a member of a group to use this feature.

needs someone to perform. Housing, food, and healthcare are basic neccessities and no matter what job you have, if you do that job it should provide you with a living wage.
The "good" qualifier for job is something I personally am a bit uneasy with. Custodial work, for instance, may not be considered a good job by some, but sure as heck is needed and ought to be more highly valued than it often is.

Anyone willing to work ought to be provided the opportunity to work and to do so for a living wage.
Where we seem to have run into trouble over the decades is the increasing gap between wages and the cost of living. I doubt most people would give a shit how big their paychecks were as long as they covered basic living expenses.
But year after year after year after year the people at the very top insist that they must keep increasing their net worth by cutting the workforce and cutting the wages of the workforce and simultaniously raise the cost of housing, healthcare, food, transportation, etc.
Just how the fuck long did these people think that was going to be sustainable? Those at the top have been taking more than their fair share, plain and simple.

Just as the plan for the "ownership society" was for the foreclosures to trickle in, year after year, keeping the market afloat, instead of the bubble bursting and the market collapsing.
by David54 on Mon Sep 10, 2012 at 09:11:12 AM PDT
however, the word "entitlement" has become code so I went with the explanation even a Republican ought to be able to understand.
It's like saying you're "entitled" to a breath of fresh air. a little oxygen.
Back in the depression, if a man asked for a glass of water, it was given to him, except under the most extreme cases of abusive privilege (see Steinbeck) . These days it's routine to deny someone a simple glass of water or a bathroom to urinate legally in.
If we don't stop them, the Republicans will "privatize" the atmosphere and you'll have to pay a private utility company for the right to breathe their air. They'll have people out enforcing payment, too. If you can't pay, they'll just put a plastic bag over your head and...compliance.

Is what we decide as a nation to do with our wealth, no individual wealth but the nation's wealth. I rather see it spent in providing health care to everyone and providing help, not full coverage, for those who need it in food, housing and so on.
We the citizens are who make this nation and we have the right to decide. Mitt and company are starting to sound really like Social Darwinist from the XIX century, that is a really perilous course because normally leads to believe that there are better forms of government than democracy. Forms in which the input of them people, the 47% in Mitt incredible calculations (coming from one of those right wing zombie lies), is not needed or desired

Currently being used at Powerlie and elsewhere to explain the otherwise mystifying fact that the race is so close (actually it's not, but that's probably about as close to reality as the wing nuts are ever going to get.)

by SanJoseLady on Mon Sep 10, 2012 at 07:38:29 AM PDT
diarys these are all coming from the same event. Someone stuck a video-cam in a bag on the floor. Maybe they lost their nerve or the bag got moved and so didn't get Romney pictured on all of it - but the bit of video they did capture was him definitely. I suppose they could have place sound-alike audio over the video but I find it hard to see why. In any case none of the scraps are particularly damaging - they wouldn't matter a damn to the kind of person in the bag for Romney so I don't see faking it would be of any real benefit..
by imokyrok on Mon Sep 10, 2012 at 11:21:57 AM PDT
The only think I could find was a few 'leaked' Bain audio's. Until I know I source I am a bit skeptical. Not that I don't believe he would say it but more proof is needed before taking it viral.
by Linda S on Mon Sep 10, 2012 at 07:40:03 AM PDT
why not spread it and let Romney clear up the matter? Either it is his voice or it isn't.
I don't doubt for one minute that this audio reflects Romney's view of half of this nation. By they way he would be referring to those on SS who feel that they are entitled to health care, food and housing in their senior years.

by DVette on Mon Sep 10, 2012 at 07:38:49 AM PDT
We all pay taxes when we work, and when we can't work for whatever reason, we get a benefit that we paid for when we were working.
Don't forget that even those who don't earn enough to pay income taxes do pay taxes: sales taxes, property taxes, gas taxes, various "user fees."
Plus everyone who works pays Social Security taxes on the first dollar they earn. The overwhelming majority of workers pay SS tax on every dollar they earn. Only the rich can get out of paying SS tax on income over $110,000 per year AND they don't have to pay it on interest, dividend and capital gains income. Lucky Duckies indeed.
It's hardly your fault if you can't find work when the largest factory in your town was moved to China and there's 20 million other people competing for the few jobs around.
We have a system that provides backstop protection when the quest for profits necessitates leaving you out in the cold. It's not welfare, it's not charity, it's part of the deal.

These are from a user that only signed up to the site a week ago posts some random audio clips with zero backup, links, or information about where it came from...
The only way this seems like real audio is if the user is actually the person who recorded it, themselves. If this is the case, then they need to say so.
There's a couple camera "clicks" in the audio, which seems odd to me. If the press was there, you'd think these remarks would have made news on their own.
Sorry, but it's too easy to manipulate audio these days. If this turns out to be real, then I'll happily spread it around. But unless we can see some more information about these clips (the user has posted more than one), I'm keeping myself clear of this.

There are several unsourced clips attributed to Rmoney with what seem dining noises in the background posted to Youtube by "Ann Onymous" at http://www.youtube.com/... including:
"I dont want to give anything to the grandchildren"
"We use Ann sparingly so people don't get tired of her"
"Mitt Romney wants 20,000 US troops back in Iraq."
Clicking "more" at the bottom brings up:
"Mitt Romney admits using Chinese slave labor @ Bain. (Leaked Video)" which has a video in the background of what sounds like a talk given by Rmoney as the "help" scurries about. Can't actually see Rmoney talking, but perhaps some forensic work on the video might reveal something.
There would have to be verified sources though before I would consider these clips legit.

Having said that, we need at least a date and location for this audio to have it go viral.
It is absolutely damning against Romney, given his tone, because part of those 47 percent are Seniors and children who are by all accounts entitled to health care, housing and food.
