Haven't seen this on Da Kos yet. If it has been covered, my apologies.
The basic story (as related by ABC News):
There is a ballot initiative called Question 3 this November in Massachusetts to legalize prescribed marijuana. Opponents of the highly-favored initiative were asked to give a web address to appear on the state's voter's guide. The group, "Vote No on Question 3," naturally chose the URL votenoonquestion3.org.
Only one problem: they hadn't secured the domain.
Noting this omission, enterprising satirist Scott Gacek grabbed it and put up a site that ostensibly opposes the proposition, but in rather, um, creative terms.
If you visit the site, you'll find articles filled with fascinating facts you never knew about medical marijuana like
FACT: Marijuana is the Gateway Drug to Twinkies
FACT: No Marijuana Smoker Has EVER Been Successful
and
FACT: The Boston Red Sox are in Last Place Because of Question 3
It really is worth a look. Gacek has done a great "look and feel" job and some of the bits are just damned hilarious.
Or maybe it was just those cookies that made me think so.
