Here we go again, waking up you sleepyheads with the overlooked new stories of the week -- the offbeat, strange and sometimes, downright weird news items that mainstream media tends to ignore. Served up with a few funnies, all designed to get your face in smiling shape for the weekend ;-).
A kindergartener is heartbroken when he loses his adored stuffed blue monkey named "Ah Ah" on a family vacation and despite mom's best efforts, the monkey could not be found and was believed to be lost forever. Three years later on a whim, mom decided to search e-Bay for "blue monkey" and one pops up. Looks just like "Ah Ah" so mom buys him. When the package arrives she is stunned to see that it's not a look alike -- it is "Ah Ah" right down to the singed hair on top from being left in the clothes dryer too long and a ragged cut where her son cut the tag off the monkey's leg.
This is the link to the story and here is Ah Ah and child reunion a video taken at the moment mom gives her son the monkey - a video that has gone viral this month. *Warning: tissue alert*
Sometimes it seems like childhood disappears as fast as… well as fast as a little blue monkey wanders off on a camping trip. You turn around, and your baby is walking into kindergarten, or your little guy is going into high school, or your daughter is leaving for college.
But even as they grow up, there are reminders of the way they used to be. The way your kindergartner snuggles into your neck when he’s sleepy, or the extra-tight hug your daughter gives you before walking into her new dorm without looking back: No matter how old, they’ll always be our babies.

Great Dane from Michigan is world's tallest dog
The Guinness World Records 2013 book published Thursday recognizes Zeus of Otsego, Mich., as the world's Tallest Dog.
The 3 year old Great Dane measures 44 inches from foot to shoulder and stretches to 7 foot 4 inches when standing on his hind legs. The previous holder of the record, Giant George, was a full inch shorter.
Owner, Denise Doorlag says:
Zeus weighs 155 pounds and eats a 30-pound bag of food every two weeks.
Doorlag says she had to get a van to be able to transport Zeus.
On a roll today with doggie stories, but I promise ewe will love this one!
Meet the ultimate sheepdog! Springer Spaniel Jess rounds up orphaned lambs and feeds them from a bottle herself
Three times a day, rain or shine, Jess the springer spaniel goes out on her milk round – to feed orphaned lambs from a bottle she carries in her mouth.
Louise Moorhouse, who has 270 sheep on her 180-acre farm, can’t imagine managing without Jess.
The farm is located near Exeter, which is linked to the Devon Wildlife Trust and specializes in rare breed sheep. Ten year old Jess is "mother" these days to four Dorset Horn lambs which could not be fed by their own mothers. There is a young lass, Lily the cocker spaniel, already in training for the day Jess retires.
‘It’s like having an extra pair of hands,’ said owner Louise Moorhouse.
‘She’s been doing it ever since she was a puppy. I taught her to hold the milk bottle in her mouth and she did the rest. It’s very funny when she runs across the field gripping the bottle.’
Baby born in parking lot of New Hampshire Motor Speedway gets free NASCAR tickets for life
The honor for luckiest NASCAR fan this year goes to Katie Arnold, who at five pounds also wins the Lightest NASCAR Fan award. That’s because Katie was born in the parking lot of the New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Friday.
Yep. And because she was born in their parking lot and was later rushed to the hospital in a New Hampshire Motor Speedway ambulance, the track has given baby Katie and her folks to free tickets to every one of their races every year for life.
I guess you could call it a "Pit Stop" as mommy Shawna Arnold decided she couldn't wait as her boyfriend was driving her to the hospital. They pulled over into the nearest parking lot which happened to be the speedway. EMTs showed up a few minutes later to take over.
