We are going to win this election. How big I do not know. I am happy about that. otherwise I am very sad about the context in which we see this election unfold. I am unhappy because here I am an old fart of 76 and I want us to be the leaders in the coming years. Instead I see the whole election scenario unfolding as it has year by year. The Germans and the Japanese were subdued then we had the USSR. Then the terrorists and what enemy will come next. It is the same old story. The blacks were the scapegoats then the Hispanics (even though they were here before the Anglo Saxons) then the gays and who is next? The whole notion of "immigrants" must be so ironic to the people we stole the place from and committed a greater genocide than Hitler could ever imagine against! It is time to get over this pattern. it is time to realize that we have evolved on this planet in a very special way. That evolution is to be seen in a special way too. We are rapidly fouling the planet that nurtures us to the point that we may never recover. We can win the election. We will win the election. Then what? People who do not care about their children, grandchildren, etc. are really no better than the people they defeat in an election. Think about that! Read on below if you want to try to come to grips with this,
Capitalism is not sustainable! Our lifestyle is not sustainable. Ignoring these uncomfortable truths simply is a way of condemning our offspring to a new kind of hell on Earth. These are no longer even close to debatable statements. The event of this one year have made even the most alarmist among our scientific community realize that the deniers had made them far too conservative in their estimates. Nonlinear feed back is so much more than mere linear progression. We all knew it would come. WQe also hoped it would not be so soon.
That's climate. Things are connected. The wanton orgy of using resources is a part of this. The capitalist orgy of getting more and more while so many people suffer is part of this . This is an evolutionary story. We are changing faster that we had hoped. We had hoped we could go on playing at elections and economics and science as if we were as smart as we pretend to be. We are not!
The facts are out there. Mitt Romney is an easy scapegoat. We will defeat him. And what will we have won? President Obama, probably more than any person alive knows exactly what I am talking about. He has met the system. He must be in awe of it. His only hope is a big victory in November. Then, maybe, we might have a small chance to do a little bit of what needs to be done. Let's give him that chance. He has been to Mordor. He has seen it. He dare not talk about it. Yet he must deal with it. Why would anyone want to be in his shoes?
