In this weekly series we have been discussing the benefits of a vegetarian diet including: better health, animal rights, food safety, public health, frugal living, global food crisis and the staggeringly huge contribution of meat/livestock production to climate change/resource depletion.
Macca's Meatless Monday/Meatless Advocates is a solution oriented activist group, with solutions for some of the most pressing issues of our time including: climate change, global food/water insecurity and public health. Here we don't just talk about the severity of the crisis. Armed with knowledge about how our actions can contribute we become part of the solution.
I was inspired to create this series by former Beatle and vegetarian advocate Paul McCartney who partnered with the Meatless Monday campaign to promote less consumption of meat. We not only discuss the benefits of a less meat diet we also do some cooking, share recipes and listen to great Beatle music!
Hi All! In a change of format today I'm using my MMM diary to be all about you! In the four years I have been writing this series the comments have been one of the strongest components of the series. The veggie recipes and tips you share have been very helpful to the readers and to me..I have learned so much from your comments! And since I am using every waking moment to work with OFA on the campaign to turn Florida blue for Obama this is a great time to get your input to help strengthen the series. In other words I need you guys! I'm swamped, slammed and up to my neck right now!
I do want to share that I am so happy that my market across the street has started carrying my fave brand diaya cheese. More pizza for me!
