My brother is running for office in MN. I will avoid any specifics of who or where, that's all you need to know. He is knocking on a lot of doors and talking to a lot of people. Today he tells me that he is sensing a real change - for the good - in the people that he is talking to.
Since the DNC he says, there has been a discernable difference in the way people are talking to him about national and local politics. Previously staunch Republicans are telling him that they cannot vote for Republicans anymore. Previous fence-sitters are saying that they are voting all Democratic this time around. Unexcited Democrats are saying that they need to vote in order to get rid of these crazies. And they are saying that this applies at all levels. There are still a lot of people that are not excited about Obama, but they are not going to let Romney get in as they see that as being much, much worse.
These are mostly rural people he is talking to. If the rural people are turning away then then Republican brand is completely toast.
What's everyone else hearing?
