For everyone who is freaking out, or merely disappointed, about the debate tonight, I want to suggest that there are very few undecided voters in this election. That fact has been stated by many a campaign observer. So if Romney did well, he did well with very few voters.
It also struck me as surprising that Romney said so many things that his base will hate -- that he would not cut taxes as much as Obama stated, that Romneycare was the model for the nation, that he will protect pre-existing conditions. I can't tell if his plan is to bait-and-switch on conservatives or liberals. Is he a conservative pretending to be moderate? or vice versa? He's not remotely trustworthy.
For those reasons, I think the debate will matter little in the long run.
