Linda McMahon, shockingly not being truthful with the voters.
Peter Wolfgang, executive director of the Family Institute of Connecticut, endorsed Linda McMahon for Senate in Connecticut because he thought she mirrored his anti-woman, anti-gay, anti-choice ideology. After her bizarre
debate gaffe on Sunday, in which she garbled federal policy on gay marriage but seemed to endorse marriage equality, Wolfgang has apparently
withdrawn his endorsement, but not his vote. Here's why:
“I’m still voting for Linda because her victory could mean the end of Roe v. Wade. [...]"
Democrat Patrick Murphy was
quick to point this out as McMahon has spent quite a bit of time and money portraying herself as pro-choice, despite the fact that she also came out in support of the Blunt amendment to allow employers the right to deny family planning coverage to employees in insurance plans.
Murphy said Tuesday he questions what McMahon told Wolfgang to make him feel she could help overturn the abortion rights court decision.
A McMahon spokesman called Murphy’s accusations ‘‘absolutely ridiculous’’ and questioned why, as an abortion rights supporter, she'd want to overturn the decision.
It's not actually an accusation from Murphy, but a question about what she might have told the far-right Wolfgang about her position on abortion. That question, by the way, isn't answered by her spokesman.
