Those of us unable to attend Obama campaign events in-person or to visit a campaign office can still support the GOTV effort by making phone calls from home. Make as many as you want, whenever you have some free time.
Today, between chores, caring for my 11 month old girl and attending a child's birthday party, I'm going to make at least 50 calls... 2 calls here, 10 calls there. Bit by bit, we can all do our part.
Calling is available from 9AM to 9:30PM local time, and with time zone differences the calling window is actually three hours longer, from 9:00AM EST (in several swing states) until 9:30PM Pacific time (in Nevada).
If you want a refresher on the call tool, come join an introductory call tool training this Sunday at 2pm CT. We’ll run down the basics of the call tool and how to make a good call, and then we’ll all hit the phones together.
Just go to http://obama.adobeconnect.com/... around 2pm CT this Sunday, the 14th, and log in as a guest using your name. I’ll be on with a few of my coworkers – I hope you can join.
Thanks for all that you do.
Take care,
Bridget

Tip: If you're nervous, just get through the first three calls. That's my threshold for settling down. Also, smiling helps make my voice sound more personable.

I was making some calls into Florida early Friday evening, and happened to speak to two Obama supporters, who still needed to return their absentee ballots. My contact served as an extra reminder, but I also used the conversation for volunteer recruitment. Both ladies mentioned that they could not canvass because of disabilities, and so I told them how I was actually volunteering from my home by using Obama's website. One of them was truly psyched to find out about this opportunity, while the other seemed interested but not so likely to partake. Anyways, FYI, it felt good to stray from the script.
If you happen to miss today's session, there are some additional training resources below the doodle.
How to use the online call tool on BarackObama.com
Just log-in to the campaign Dashboard and follow the script: https://dashboard.barackobama.com
You can pick whatever state you want to call and select from a couple of different scripts.

Tu papel será preguntarles a los votantes si el Presidente Obama puede contar con su apoyo en noviembre y si están interesados en involucrarse en esta campaña y ayudar a registrar a votantes hispanoparlantes.
Also, I've started leaving messages for people even though there is not a specific script for this. I say something along the lines of
"Hi this message is for X. My name is X, and I'm a volunteer with Obama's campaign. I was calling to ask for your vote. If you would like more information about Obama's positions or would like to volunteer with the campaign, please visit Barack Obama dot com. [pause a second to wait for deletions]. Also, I wanted to let you know that X County has a website where you can download a sample ballot and find out about early voting. The website is X*. And early voting is available X. Thank you and good evening."
Notes:
* If the website address is not straightforward then I instead plug Obama's website, GottaVote.com
Also, I find their County by googling the city and then find their elections office...this might be a waste of time, but I kind of like leaving messages
