This diary is part of a series on what it's like to live with Asperger's Syndrome. If you wish to start from the beginning, or if you wish to know more about my diagnosis, you should click here
Okay, I normally try to stay away from angry, pissy diaries, but hearing Romney's Emergency Room comment (And reading about it on many sites, including this one) has made my rage meter go off the charts, so I'll rant a bit below.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that Mitt Romney has no interest in America or the well being of my fellow Americans, despite his rather simplistic campaign slogan. He doesn't give two fucks about America, and evidently neither do the folks voting for him, because obviously they'd rather let their hatred or disappointment of Obama get in the way of their better judgment than actually think or do a little research.
It's exactly this kind of media-driven reactionary bullshit that makes me vomit in disgust, mainly because of the fact that I myself come from a dirt poor background and had more trouble trying to navigate life than most folks will understand. I'm surprised I'm even here at all given how little support I had for so many years, and last time I checked, you can't go to the emergency room for a Cerebral Palsy or Asperger's diagnosis (I've been diagnosed with both).
This brings me to exactly why I'm against right-wing reactionary thought, because for all their 'individualism', 'free thought' and other things they boast about, it's all useless without the means or necessities needed to exercise or acquire such things. EVERYONE gets help from someone or somewhere for something, whether it's help with bills, learning skills needed to survive or a trade, or getting an education.
All that which I just listed is why the Republican creed utterly fails, and they count on their proles to forget about that in lieu of the scapegoat they're painting Obama into as I type this (And have been doing since the day he was elected).
So to those folks who are going to be voting for Romney who happen to read this, I want to ask: How much more is it going to take before you realize how much potential has been destroyed over the last four decades? When are you going to realize that the real reason they want to privatize or get rid of things like Medicare or Social Security is because of the fact that the ACA has stopped them from robbing them blind?
Considering you right-wingers have been going on this long, I'd say never.
Obama may not be perfect, but I refuse to let the reactionary Republicans drag us down with them (And that goes double for the Independents who fail to see Romney for the threat that he is).
If this rant makes some folks here nervous I'll understand, but like I said, comments like the one mentioned in the beginning anger me, although given the tone of rMoney's campaign, it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.
See you around,
Homer
