By now you all know there's been another Wisconsin mass shooting, this time at a spa. WaPo has pictures of people being evacuated in bathrobes.
What you may not realize however is this detail, again from WaPo:
The shooting at the mall took place less than a mile from where seven people were killed and four wounded on March 12, 2005, when a gunman opened fire at a Living Church of God service held at a hotel.
Guess we all forgot about that one. Here was the NYT headline from March 14, 2005:
After Shootings in Wisconsin, a Community Asks 'Why?'.
Looks like that's a headline the NYT will be able to reuse again for the foreseeable future.
There's no amount of Second Amendment argumentation, particularly that put forward by that oaf Scalia, that's going to convince me that this sort of thing need be accepted under the present state of the laws. There are simply too many guns, too many crackpots, and too many people, even if not crackpots, who believe that a gun will solve your problems.
All this is a testament of course to the power of the NRA to completely remove the possibility that maybe intelligent legislation might actually make some headway against this plague.
