Why didn't Obama think of this? It must be that Kenyan anti-colonial worldview that blinds him to such simple, obvious solutions.
“I’d make sure that Ahmadinejad is indicted under the Genocide Convention. His words amount to genocide incitation,” Romney said.
According to Romney senior adviser Eric Fehrnstrom, successfully indicting Ahmadinejad would be more than just a symbolic victory.
“I think it would remove probably one of the most anti-Jewish, anti-Israel, pro-genocide members of that regime in Tehran,” he told TPM after the debate. As to whether he would actually be arrested: “I’m hoping that he would be indicted and that action would unfold following that indictment. Absolutely.”

Eric Fehrnstrom is just a gift that keeps on giving, isn't he? Let me point out a few of the problems with this.
1) Calling for Israel to be "wiped off the map" is Not Nice, but arrests for genocide generally require some actual genocide to have taken place
2) The World Court would experience certain practical difficulties in arresting Ahmadinejad
3) Ahmadinejad is not in charge of Iran. He is the President and chief of state, yes; the Council of Elders is actually the ruling body. Removing Ahmadinejad from power affects Iran's nuclear program not one whit
It is pretty clear that Team Romney has not the slightest idea how to address the Iranian problem. Along with identifying Syria as Iran's route to the sea, this glib superficial approach of tasking the UN with arresting the Iranian President shows that Iran is another problem Romney would kick down the road and hope that someone else would solve for them.
Republicans don't tax their brains. This is pure intellectual laziness on an issue that Romney pretends to find important.
