So the Romney team thinks they've got a shot at this thing. It's a toss up! 50/50 split! A Coin flip! Anyone's game! Could go either way! I'm not saying it's impossible - but let's be frank - it's not looking that great for the red team. I'd much rather be the President right now than Mitt Romney.
But none the less, Team Romney/Ryan is confident of victory. That's why they're throwing good money after bad in PA and MN where they've never lead and democrats have huge advantages in registration. That's why they've "pulled out of North Carolina" days ago except they didn't - they're all up in there. That why they're running deceptive, desperate ads in Ohio. Practically setting up camp in Canton, where they haven't been ahead in a poll in weeks. That's why they're all working away in the Badger state, trying everything to move the dial when they've never actually lead. Well just for fun I went back and checked out what the McCain Campaign was saying on this date in 2008. Follow me over the squiggle for a little comic relief.

Barack Obama has launched his final pitch for power this weekend, with polls suggesting he is on course to make history as America's first black president after Tuesday's election. But his Republican rival John McCain remained bullish about his prospects as he appeared to gain ground.
A zombie poll...I mean zogby poll had just given them new life. They were on the move. Great news for the McCain!
...a three day tracking poll by the Zogby polling company appeared to hand the Republican a late lifeline. While the final poll had Mr Obama ahead, the results for the third of the three days gave Mr McCain a one point lead.
Hey and guess where McCain was hanging his hat!! OHIO. Same place Team Mitt is making his final pitch. Hey and McCain had the terminator not weak tea like Lee Greenwood or Kidd Rock. Arnold was going to terminate Obama leaners and make the them all Joe-the-plumers for Palin!!
Mr McCain made a combative appearance in Ohio on Friday night with Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Hollywood star turned Governor of California. He vowed to fight to the last as his aides predicted he could yet spring a surprise.
Mr McCain's campaign manager Rick Davis said: "We're pretty jazzed up about what we're seeing. We are witnessing one of the greatest comebacks".
On November 1st. 2008 it was great news for John McCain. And look what happened, John McCain became the comeback kid and the rest is history. And on November 1st four years later it's even better news for Mitt Romney!
