According to the magazine, Maritime Executive, Jeb Bush created firm, Old Rhodes Holding LLC, in 2011 and joined forces with the firm O’Brien Response Management, a subsidiary of SEACOR Holdings, to form a for-profit disaster response company.
The article states:
O’Brien Response Management provides emergency planning, disaster response, preparedness consulting, crisis communications and regulatory compliance services to corporations and governments.
JEB BUSH: “We are pleased to enter into this partnership with one of the leading response organizations in the United States, backed by SEACOR’s global network.
Together we look forward to helping a broader array of organizations and communities become more resilient through preparation, response, communication and recovery.”
Of course, this response team only helps people for a price.
If Republicans privatize FEMA, the price is this: You would still pay the same amount of taxes that would ordinarily go to FEMA but your tax money, under Privatization of FEMA, would be given to corporations like Jeb Bush's.
Naturally, Jeb Bush's private FEMA Corporation would take a profit maybe 30% of every dollar? Who knows ... one never knows how the Bush family will skim our tax dollars for their own pockets.
Like Neal Bush's corporation that writes "learning centers" for the annual Test for George W. Bush's No Child Left Behind Law -- where Neals Corporations Ignite! gets our tax dollars in exchange for a worthless test that has done nothing to improve education.
The LA Times wrote in 2006
WASHINGTON — A company headed by President Bush's brother and partly owned by his parents is benefiting from Republican connections and federal dollars targeted for economically disadvantaged students under the No Child Left Behind Act.
At least 13 U.S. school districts have used federal funds available through the president's signature education reform, the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, to buy Ignite's portable learning centers at $3,800 apiece.
Then there was Neal Bush's corporation Silverado Savings and Loan that melted down the US Economy when his daddy, HW was Vice President. The Savings and Loan meltdown cost the US Taxpayers around $1.3 Billion.
Oh, but I digress .... Jeb Bush is willing to start a disaster response company and work on behalf of storm victims in America -- if the price is right. In other words, Jeb Bush looks forward to profitting off of people's misery, death and property destruction.
Currently, FEMA, is a government funded organization that helps people at no charge beyond the taxes paid to the United States Government by the American people.
