We're going to insert some code now that should give us some better performance on Tuesday. Or it might break everything completely. It might mean that you don't see new diaries when you should see them. But the lure of the sweeet, sweeet speed is so high that your tech team is here on Sunday to see if we can pull it off.
Basically, we're trying to make our caching routine a tiny bit smarter so that we can better anticipate requests before tens of thousands of you make them. The problem is that it is easier to make it quite a bit dumber if we don't make it exactly right. We appreciate your patience and your eagle eyes to let us know today if this change will work or if we need to pull it back.
In other news, all our servers are back on grid power now. Woo! Thanks to all the unseen and unsung who made that happen in New York - those people are working really hard to make the rest of our lives as seamless as possible.

Unfortunately, this is the kind of thing that is very hard to test without, say, 10,000 actively hitting and using the site in the way real people do. Our robot testing says it will work... but robots are stupid and uncreative compared to y'all.
