I'm keeping this short.
Do you have a stack of those heavy-paper signs from Obama campaign rallies or leftover from the DNC? You also have some metal sign thing-a-ma-jigs but no signs to use them with?
Go to your favorite hardware store and get the following:
- Duck tape
- Signs
- Metal sticks, or thin wooden stakes
- A hammer
If you don't have any of those thick "Forward/Middle Class First/Medicare: No Vouchers" signs in stock, head down to a hobby shop and pick up some large paper sheets. They're extremely cheap, and they are the right size for yard signs or protest signs as well.
Don't have any metal sticks or wooden stakes? The hardware store should have these. You don't need anything fancy, so just get something that won't snap from a little wind and see if you can get them cut with points at one end. Try to get stakes that are at least a few feet long, so that people don't have to lean over to see the signs posted on them.
How to build: Put the sign on one side of the stick. Put some duck tape over the other side of the stick. Now go to your polling place, find a good soft piece of ground, and hammer that bad boy in.
What, did you think this was going to be complicated? I told you these signs were Carolina Style! Also, duck tape is your friend :)
I <3 you guys... Lets win this thing! FOUR MORE YEARS!
