Tue Nov 06, 2012 at 10:37 PM PT (jeffmd): CNN has just called CO-06 in suburban Denver for incumbent Republican Mike Coffman, who defeats Joe Miklosi.
This is what's left:
Senate Races: Montana, North Dakota, Nevada
Gubernatorial Races: Montana, Washington
House Races: A slew of races in Arizona and California. In addition, MI-01, MI-11, MN-06, MN-08, MT-AL, and UT-04. We're also waiting on confirmation in FL-18 and NC-07 where both Dems appear to have a narrow lead.
Ballot initiatives: Notably, we're still waiting to hear on the two Minnesota amendments, the Michigan Emergency Manager law, Marriage Equality in Washington, and a slew of California propositions.
Tue Nov 06, 2012 at 10:39 PM PT (jeffmd): MI-11: The Republican lean of the district shows through, as CNN calls Republican Kerry Bentivolio the winner over Democrat Syed Taj.
Tue Nov 06, 2012 at 10:46 PM PT (jeffmd): While most states moved towards liberalization of marijuana regulations tonight, MT bucked the trend by passing IR-124.
Tue Nov 06, 2012 at 10:52 PM PT (jeffmd): David Valadao (R) claims the Central Valley-based CA-21, beating out Dem John Hernandez.
Tue Nov 06, 2012 at 10:54 PM PT (jeffmd): California's also passed a reform of its "Three Strikes" law. (Prop 36).
Tue Nov 06, 2012 at 10:57 PM PT (jeffmd): We've been all watching FL-18 closely, and the latest dump of votes (moving us to 99% reporting) yields a lead of NTPM of 2,381 votes.
Tue Nov 06, 2012 at 11:09 PM PT (jeffmd): In UT-04, Jim Matheson once again proves his resilience -- he leads Mia Love by 2,800 votes with 100% reporting, though no call yet.
Tue Nov 06, 2012 at 11:19 PM PT: There are five major statewide elections left uncalled: NV-Sen, ND-Sen, MT-Sen, MT-Gov, WA-Gov.
Tue Nov 06, 2012 at 11:22 PM PT: NV-Sen. 59%. Heller up 46-45. 8700 votes
ND-Sen. 97% in. Heitkamp up 50.5-49.5. 3100 votes
MT-Sen. 37% in. Tester up 51-44
MT-Gov. Same. Bullock up 51-45
WA-Gov. 51% in. Inslee up 51-49
Tue Nov 06, 2012 at 11:25 PM PT: Nice: Looks like Democrats have held the Iowa state Senate, the only bulwark against the state's GOP running rampant.
Tue Nov 06, 2012 at 11:27 PM PT: Another Dem pickup: Rick Nolan has defeated GOP Rep. Chip Cravaack in MN-08. Maybe Cravaack can run for the Republicans next cycle in his home state of New Hampshire.
Tue Nov 06, 2012 at 11:29 PM PT: Is there a more death-defying politician in America than Dem Rep. Jim Matheson? Despite having his district chopped to bits in redistricting, and despite running in Utah with a Mormon GOP presidential candidate at the top of the ticket, he's won re-election—Republican opponent Mia Love has just conceded. Wow. Triple wow.
Tue Nov 06, 2012 at 11:30 PM PT: FL-18: With his lead at 2,400 votes, Patrick Murphy has declared victory over Allen West. Amazing.
Tue Nov 06, 2012 at 11:38 PM PT: Sounds like loser-speak to me:
Berg announced he'll wait for canvassing process next week for #NDSen results to be official.
