Just a quick diary to bring to everyone's attention something that may be going unnoticed in Ohio. The Republicans are 2 seats away from having a supermajority in the Ohio state house, which would allow John Kasich to pass whatever crazy legislative agenda he has had in mind since he got elected.
Here is the email I received from the ODP this morning:
Arturo –
We’re so thankful for all the work you did to re-elect President Obama and Senator Brown, but we have just a little left to do.
Despite redistricting the Ohio House in their favor, Republicans are poised to lose two seats that are headed to recounts. With your help, we’ll beat the odds and make more pickups than anyone thought was possible.
With thousands of provisional ballots left to count, Matt Patten and Joshua O’Farrell are just a handful of votes behind the Republicans. Your help will make the difference in these recounts and keep Republicans from winning a super-majority.
Please donate $10 today to help us win these recounts and pick up even more seats.
If we don’t win one of these recounts, Gov. Kasich and House Republicans will gain a super-majority and likely be able to pass any extreme piece of legislation whenever they want.
Even scarier, without a win, Republicans will have the votes to put anything on the ballot they want, including an end to collective bargaining, new attacks on women’s health, and a personhood amendment.
We must not let State House Republicans gain a supermajority. Please give $10 today to help us finish the job and win these recounts.
In solidarity,

I'm getting ready to donate. Anyone who can help with this please do. The future of Ohio depends on what we Progressives do.

Thank you.
