(This is a re-post from last year, but it applies again this year.)
Ok. Soap box time again
I think it is sad that a special and unique American Holiday is being corrupted further by "Black Friday" starting the night of Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving in America is a celebration that people of all faith traditions celebrate together. It is a time even Atheists pause and are thankful for the blessings in their life. What other time do Christians, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, and about every other religion you can name pause and celebrate family, friends, and the blessings of being in America? Yes, we celebrate by stuffing our bellies and being gluttonous, but food is the best bonding tool and brings people together. I do not want Thanksgiving reduced to just being the day Christmas sales start. Leave that for the day after where it belongs.
Ok...stepping back off the soapbox.
