Just a short diary. One of the people up for Time Person of the Year is Malala Yousafzai. This courageous young lady was shot by the Taliban because she believes that girls should be educated. This is being shared all over Facebook. If you would like to vote for her the link is below.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

Signed that she should be named Time Person of the Year.  Additionally, I've heard that she's been nominated for the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize and I certainly hope she wins.  This young lady is an inspiration for all young girls and as she recouperates I know this will help her.

... Along with Jaycee Dugard, I think Malala Yousafzai is one of the bravest and strongest young women I have ever seen.

Whenever the idiocy of the right-wing tea-baggers gets me down, I remember that people like Malala and Jaycee (as well as former congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords) exist to make the world a better place. Their courage is a living inspiration that proves to me how guns and violence will always lose to the power of an idea whose time has come.

Are some people from the rest of the world trying to engineer a cruel joke on us, or could it be some disgruntled losers in this country, still simmering over the election, attempting to spite the public by throwing the obvious favorite (Malala) under the bus?  The new Chairman Kim has basically done nothing to earn the honor, because it looks very obvious that the military over there is still running the show and still getting him up to speed on how to run a dictatorship as isolated as N. Korea.
