I'm a very proud and thankful "Nana", with three grandsons ranging in age from 4 to 12. The middle one will be six next month. He started kindergarten this year and loves it. He's my heart's delight. He's his mother's joy and reason for everything.
I've been thinking about him today. Thinking of all my "grand babies" in the midst of this heart crushing day. Like all of us, thoughts of the children lost today are never far away. Thoughts of their parents, sisters and brothers. Thoughts of their families and friends. Thoughts of the teachers who so bravely protected their students. Thoughts of a town shattered.
This Nana heart of mine aches for them. I know all our hearts are hurting right now and will be for days to come.
So I thought it would perhaps help if we came together to send prayers, or whatever you wish to call it; love, blessings, thoughts of comfort and caring, to the parents and grandparents, families and community that have lost so much today.
May strong wings of love, soft wings of comfort, gently enfold them all
Please feel free to share your own favorite images, poems and thoughts. We need one another right now and they need all of us.
Peace and comfort, always
