More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

I suppose it was inevitable. Please Massachusetts put an end to this guy's senatorial ambitions, we don't need him or his truck. And you just know what with all his conversations with royalty he wants badly to run for President!

You either want to run or not. If he cares so much about this country and feels he can make a contribution in the Senate then he would have behaved that way the day he left office. What an empty suit he is.

  •  Make Brown a two time loser (6+ / 0-)

I hope Scott Brown runs again only to get defeated again so that he can slink away and we don't have to see or hear him anymore.  The voters of Massachusetts defeated him once so now they can have an encore performance.  Also it gives Repubs a chance to throw more millions of their dollars away.

of low paying, no benefits jobs that he and his party's policies created for us?  Maybe he can start up an adult magazine for us middle aged and older women and be it's first centerfold?  I don't know, just throwing out options based on his skill-set.

  •  If I were Brown (0+ / 0-)

I'd be more interested in the governor's mansion in 2014; Republicans have a better track record there.  In this respect, MA is like NJ.

  •  'Am hoping Markey is the blue team's (5+ / 0-)

    nominee.

In that case, Massachusetts voters will have no more reason to vote for Brown this time than last time against the magnificent Elizabeth Warren.

If we have a good candidate, Markey in this case, the rationale to support Brown is diminished.

I personally think Brown's a fool to underestimate Markey's chances.  I second mollyjb's idea above to make Brown a two-time loser.

We knew this would happen if John Kerry became SOS.  It was discussed the moment Kerry's name was mentioned.

But I think there was hope that he wouldn't run because he'd again have to campaign next year for the 2014 elections.  And maybe he'd run for governor instead.

Let's face it, he's going to be the favorite to get this seat.

...should he win the seat...does anyone know who the likely candidates would be to replace him in the House? Who would the likeliest Democrats be to run? Are there any Republicans of note (i.e. with name recognition)  who might run to replace Markey?
