You don't really have to, but if it rocks your socks, and you're interested, I have written several books. So I am shamelessly promoting them here.
They are all on Lulu.com, because they are niche books. That means they don't have a wide appeal and are written for a small and selective audience (family and friends).
But hey, all y'all could be friends. And maybe you'd like one of these.
Time Tarts and Chrono-Teas
This is a steampunk tea book, written specifically for steampunks, but really, it's applicable to anyone who loves tea. There are descriptions of various types of teas, and how different cultures drink tea, and then recipes. Some of the recipes are for making tea, but many are for accompanying tea: finger sandwiches, tarts, cookies, cakes, and more. There are a few recipes that use tea as an ingredient, too, just to round things out a bit.
I wrote this one under my steampunk name Cordelia MoonTea. But it's still me.
Recipes include Time Tarts, Blimp Cakes, and Bubble Teas.
Stewed Monkey Heads and Other Family Favorites
This book was written for my son's wedding, so he could have a copy of all the family favorites. Everyone in the family has a copy, and my sister wore her first copy out and had to buy a second copy (I gave her the first one). It's got some of our family history in it, too, mostly relating to the recipes.
Recipes include the family's Frybread recipe, our Eagle Brand Lemon Pie, Stewed Monkey Heads (with an onna stick version!), and beer butt chicken. There's an entire section on sourdough, and another on making foods for your pets.
Practical Handbook of Dying and Death
Until Mother died, I didn't know that other people didn't have a clue how to put their affairs in order. I thought it was obvious. I've had my affairs in order since I left home. That's what you did when you grew up and set up house on your own - set your affairs in order and keep them there. It never crossed my mind that my siblings and my mother had no clue about any of this.
So I wrote it all together and printed it out for them.
Then my friends saw it and wanted copies, so I put it up on Lulu. It's helped a number of them.
I'm working on Noddy's Noshes, a book of snack food recipes replicating most of our favorite treats, from Twinkies to Cheetos. It's almost done. Lulu changed how they accept the formatting, so once I trudge my way through that, it should be good to go.
