A serious question for you: Do you lock your doors at night?
Really? I don’t get it. Why would you do that?
Time has shown that locks won’t keep the bad guys out. They’ll kick in the door, they’ll go through a window…whatever. If they want to get inside badly enough, they will.
I mean, isn’t that why many of you own guns in the first place?
I suppose you could argue that locking the doors puts barriers in the bad guy’s way. Sure, it won’t stop a truly determined intruder, but they have to really want it. The average jerk walking by won’t be able to get in and cause harm on a whim. He’ll have to really mean it. He’ll have to commit himself to committing the crime, and he won’t be able to pull it off without substantial effort.
But in the end, if he wants to get in, he’ll get in.
So ask yourself… why do I lock the doors if it won’t keep intruders out?
Does this seem like a dumb question?
Be honest.
So why do people keep saying we don’t need gun control laws because they won’t stop bad guys from getting guns?
