AARP has set up a web page to share your stories on how you are already struggling and taking even more away from you will not encourage you to get a job. Some of the best ones will be sent to Congress in hopes someone there has empathy for anything other than money.
This is a literate and active group so please share your stories and pass on the link so others may share in the joys of the 'ownership society.'

Some Washington politicians are considering changing the cost-of-living-adjustment (COLA) for Social Security and veterans' benefits, resulting in $129 billion in cuts over the next ten years. The COLA change, called the chained CPI, would hurt many already living on tight budgets stretched by mortgages, utility bills and health care costs.
AARP is working hard to fight this cut, but we need your help. Please take a few minutes to share your story on how the chained CPI would hurt you. How would a cut to your Social Security or veterans' benefits impact you and your family? Could you afford to take your medications every day, or put food on the table? Is there something you would have to go without?
We will be selecting some stories to share with Members of Congress as part of our effort. Your personal information will be kept confidential. On behalf of America's seniors and veterans, please share your story today and help us convince Congress to reject cuts to your hard-earned benefits and instead find responsible ways to address our nation's budget challenges. Your personal story could make all the difference!
