It really can't get much funnier than this.
Detroit, MI: As of Friday morning, recently-appointed Detroit Emergency Financial Manager Kevyn Orr had two outstanding liens on his $1 million home in Maryland, the Detroit News has discovered.
The News found that Maryland state records show Orr was hit with four liens in as many years for unpaid taxes. The two outstanding liens stem from more than $16,000 in unemployment taxes in 2010 and 2011. Two other liens for more than $16,000 in income and unemployment taxes were paid off in 2011 and 2010.

Seriously, run like a business? The Daily Show couldn't have made this up.
Both Orr and the governor's office were reportedly dumbfounded when The News showed them the records at its downtown Detroit office Friday.
Wait, wait. And, of course, it isn't their fault.
Sara Wurfel, a spokeswoman for the governor’s office, told The News later that the liens were due to an oversight from an outside accountant that was hired to file Orr’s tax returns.
So let me see if I've got this. First our arrogant, ex-Gateway CEO and corporate run- it-like-a-business Governor flubs a routine background check and hires an Emergency Manager for Detroit that has had four liens in four years slapped against his taxes. Then the Gov and the EFM Snyder is going to pay $275K a year to handle Detroit's finances admit they didn't know anything about the liens, and by extension, Orr his own finances.
I think we've truly fallen through the looking glass.
