Tell the GOP and the Nation, No cuts to Social Security benefits, No Chained CPI, no Superlative CPI will be tolerated.
Cutting Social Security benefits via Chained CPI or Superlative CPI is unacceptable to Americans. A recent National Academy of Social Insurance poll found 64% of Americans thought the COLA should be increased not cut. A poll conducted by the Harvard School of Public Health showed 66% of Americans supported no cuts to Social Security.
Increasing annual COLA's also increases Social Security Trust Fund revenues. This improves Social Security's long term solvency while increasing benefits for Seniors.
Tell President Obama:
#noSScuts
#HandsOffSocialSecurity.

Senate Unanimously Votes Against Cuts to Social Security, Media Don't Notice
Dean Baker
3-25-13
There are few areas where the corruption of the national media is more apparent than in its treatment of Social Security. Most of the elite media have made it clear in both their opinion and news pages that they want to see benefits cut. In keeping with this position they highlight the views of political figures who push cuts to the program, treating them as responsible, while those who oppose cuts are ignored or mocked.

"HandsOffMySS" Blogathon: March 25th thru March 29th, 2013
Diary Schedule - All Times Eastern Standard
IT IS TIME TO TAKE A STAND
Social security is a concept enshrined in Article 22 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which states that Everyone, as a member of society, has the right to social security.
A limited form of the Social Security program began, during President Franklin D. Roosevelt's first term, as a measure to implement "social insurance" during the Great Depression of the 1930s, when poverty rates among senior citizens exceeded 50 percent.
Let your voice be heard.
Members of the Daily Kos group Social Security Defenders have organized this bogathon to promote the truth about the financial condition of the Social Security trust fund, and the impacts of various so called reforms and fixes.
Understanding how benefits are calculated, the History of Social Security, where the Wisconsin Idea came from, and how over the years changes have been made to Social Security, all increase awareness and hopefully improve the discussion.
