Last night, Jon Stewart took a humorous look at how people "evolve" when it comes to gay marriage.

Now on the opposite side of the mojo tracks, gay marriage continues to rack up supporters.
WILLIE GEIST (3/26/2013): The latest Democratic Senator, Mark Warner...

CHRIS MATTHEWS (4/4/2013): Florida's Bill Nelson ... reversed his opposition to same-sex marriage.

THOMAS ROBERTS (3/29/2013): ... North Carolina's Kay Hagan and Montana's Jon Tester ...

THOMAS ROBERTS (4/5/2013): ... Heidi Heitkamp and Joe Donnelly ...

WILLIE GEIST (3/26/2013): ... Hillary Clinton ... and Senator Claire McCaskill ...

CHRIS JANSING (4/2/2013): Senator Tom Carper, who was one of the last remaining Democrats silent on same-sex marriage has just endorsed it, putting it up on his Facebook page.

Actually, I should... they interpreted Carper's Facebook page, because of the sign, as support.  He was actually supporting Pause Button Awareness.

It was just, he flipped it.  It's also an important issue.

It may seem like all the Democrats are rushing to get on the side of gay marriage with the breakneck pace of passengers disembarking a shit-encrusted cruise ship, but whenever a Democrats talks about their change of heart, they tend to put it on a more epic time scale.

BARACK OBAMA (12/22/2010): With respect to the issue of whether gays and lesbians should be able to get married ... my feelings about this are constantly evolving.

CHRIS MATTHEWS (4/8/2013): South Dakota's Tim Johnson says he backs same-sex marriage.

WILLIE GEIST (3/26/2013): ... Mark Warner of Virginia, who says his views have evolved.

They're referring, of course, to Charles Darwin's Theory of Gay Evolution.  It's what led ultimately to Darwin's groundbreaking Evolution of Gay Marriage Acceptance Chart.

(wild audience cheering and applause)

Obviously, those are Democrats.  You cannot ask Republicans to embrace both gay marriage and evolution in one go.  Interesting fact: more Americans now support gay marriage than believe in evolution.  (audience gasps)

So what would it take for Republicans to change their minds?

FOX NEWS ANCHOR: Republican Senator Mark Kirk of Illinois says he now supports same-sex marriage ... saying, "Our time on this Earth is limited.  I know that better than most."

MIKE ALLEN: ... Senator Kirk, referring to his amazing recovery from a stroke ...

So it would take a catastrophic brain injury.  (audience laughter)

Is, ah, there gentler means of persuasion that doesn't include cerebral clotting?

FREDRICKA WHITFIELD (3/15/2013): Rob Portman makes a stunning about-face on same-sex marriage, after learning his son is gay.
Senator Portman also recently learned his other son, Derek, is female.

And now, Senator Portman supports equal pay for women.

Of course, having a family member who's gay is not going to work on everybody.

JOY-ANN REID (4/2/2013): Arizona Congressman Matt Salmon said the fact that his son is gay does not change his view of same-sex marriage.

REP. MATT SALMON (3/31/2013): I don't support the gay marriage. ... As far as believing in my heart that we should change 2,000 years of social policy in favor of a redefinition of the family, I'm not there.

Yeah, he's certainly earned the mug he got this year for Christmas.

Yes, Representative Salmon believes men and women should reproduce as generations of his people have throughout history.  By swimming hundreds of miles upstream, spraying their sperm into ice-cold water, flipping over and dying, as God intended.  We'll be right back.

Video below the fold.

Jon also looked at how Obama has seemingly lost his mojo.
Jessica Williams then looked at how pubic lice are being threatened out of existence.
Meanwhile, Stephen was at Clinton Global Initiative University to speak with Bill Clinton.  They spent the entire show together.

Part 2
Part 3
Jon talked with former Reagan OMB director David Stockman, which of course went long.  Here's the whole unedited interview in three parts.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
