The other day I read a diary here at Daily Kos where the diarist suggested that all the necessary elements for a citizens' uprising have been met, and that we just need something to spark it.
I found that diary very interesting because for over ten years now I've been dumbfounded by the general apathy of the population in the face of the imposition of a corporatist proto-fascist state (or inverted totalitarianism, as pointed out by bobswern).
By now I understand that the lack of uprising is due to people being under the influence of "mental bondage" due to the powerful effects of propaganda.
Either way, aside from other topics, I'll start writing these short notes under the title "Spark," trying to pierce through the wall of mind control caused by corporatist propaganda.
I'm just a regular Joe... I have to work, pay bills, and all that good stuff, but I can set aside a little time for revolution.
Being self-employed means I have to work on my sales pipeline so I can get x amount of meetings, and x amount of contracts, etc.
I usually work on that in the morning. And during the afternoon I work on deliverables, on projects, etc.
But I can make some time for revolution. So, other revolutionaries in the Oakland Area and/or San Francisco, hit me up.
It's not that complicated. Let's pick a place (about somewhere in the Financial District in SF), and one person gets there, and twits "I'm here, ready for revolution." Two more people arrive, and makes the same report on twitter, then two more people, then 10, 20, 100, 500... You have a flash mob.
Then, I look at my watch, and say, "Shit, I better get back to my desk and finish this or that project for a customer," so I go back to my home-office and do a little work, but somebody else replaces me (like a shifts). Maybe I got back in two days, but the thing is going at all times, more and more people twitting, getting together.
The flash mobs ebbs and flows... One moment 10, another 1,000, another 35, but somebody always there.
The revolutionary fervor grows, people talk to each other, compare notes, get energized by the solidarity and commitment of others.
It spreads, from city to city...
This is just one idea. I know, I know... You probably imagine me with a couple of dried branches, leaning over holding two rocks, trying to create some sparks for the fire.
But I'll keep trying... Maybe if not me, someone else will. Either way, I'll be there.
UPDATE: THU JUN 06, 2013 AT 03:45 PM PDT - Let me just clarify that I'm in no way advocating for anything illegal, violent, or dangerous in any way. I think people see the word uprising and immediately go there. Everything I advocate will always fall within the law, and constitutional protections in every way.
